Westlund is a division of Emco Corporation, one of Canada’s leading distributors and manufacturers of building materials for the industrial, residential, commercial and construction markets.

Westlund was founded in Edmonton in 1963 and acquired by Emco in 1986. We have grown from our strong Alberta roots and today serve our customers from over 30 dedicated branch locations across Canada. As part of the Emco network, we also work through an additional 200+ distribution locations, meeting the specialized needs of our customers in their own locales.

Emco Corporation was initially incorporated in London, Ontario in 1906 as The Empire Manufacturing Company Limited. Emco’s wholesale distribution arm, Emco Distribution, operates from over 200 locations and 2500+ employees across Canada. Emco also operates a manufacturing unit, Emco Building Products, that produces asphalt roofing shingles, roofing paper and wood fiber products.

Until April 2003, Emco was a publicly owned company with common shares traded on the TSE in Canada and on NASDAQ in the United States. At that time, the company became privately owned.

Westlund is headed by Kevin O’Reilly, Vice President and General Manager. Mr. O’Reilly leads a high-quality, high-speed group of specialists who in turn serve specialists in the energy and resources sector using the organizational structure featured below.
